On this page you will find original designs by Attic Crafts in kit &
pattern form, items from their book 'Paint & Embroider', blankets,
cushions, quilts, dolls, bears, wall hangings and much more.
All our kits have fully detailed instructions & diagrams as well as
stitch diagrams & instructions. In most cases, everything that you
need to make the project are included, except the frame, machine thread
& filling. Quilt kits do not have backing, binding or wadding either.
Most projects have been classes in our shop & therefore have been
thoroughly tested.

'On the bear's tummy is a hand painted beehive on tea-dyed quilter's muslin. There are simple, cream coloured flowers in ribbon & thread scattered over the bear & small embroidered bees fly amongst them. The facial features are embroidered & the joints are buttoned. This cute little bear stands 25 cm high. Does not include filling, dental floss, buttons, doll needle or sewing thread.

'Is a hand painted pot. The topiary is filled with bullion roses, daisies & blossoms. It is in dusky shades of pink, mauve, blue & green. Approx. design size is 11 x 15cm
'A tea-dyed "calico" doll with plaited rag hair. Her dress has a painted garden gate & sign post & is embellished with a vegie garden. Her bodice has appliqued strawberries. She is 32cm (12 1/2 ") tall. She wears a necklace with a spade & fork charm. Does not include toy fill, paint for boots, raffia or fine marker.
'Country patchwork fabrics in beige & caramel are made into a three fold needlepurse which holds full packets of needles. Size (closed) is 14cm square. Bright buttons & perle cotton make up the various flowers. Tea-dyed, hand painted bee hive is a feature patch. Not include press studs, machine thread.
Hand painted basket filled with white silk daisies & silk thread embroidered flowers in purple, blue & pink. A little red ladybird is visiting. Approx. size 15 x 15 cm.
'Painted cross section view of bulbs in the earth in a combination of ribbon & thread. Yellow freesias, red ranunculus, Dutch iris, grape hyacinth & pink tulip.Approx.15 x 14 cm.
'Companion to #72. Bulbs are yellow crocus, cream jonquil, magenta anemone, yellow daffodils & blue hyacinth.
Path & beds are painted onto linen. You need to draw (or embroider) a picket fence & gate. Rows of vegies grow from threads, ribbons & beads. Lots of favourites, including lettuce, carrots, corn, tomatoes & even a rose arbour. Approx. 10 cm square. No filling included.

Canvas work in antique green, mustard & dusky purple. Features beautiful hand dyed silk thread & has ribbon embroidered violets stitched in the centre. It is trimmed with cord & edged in velveteen in a rich antique green (or plum).Canvas design is approx. 6.5 cm square, overall size is approx. 12 cm square. Does not include filling.
Small heart shaped pin cushion in crazy patchwork. Fabrics are country shades of caramel & beige embellished with perle cottons, naïve flowers & buttons. A companion piece for #67. Does not include filling.
Two cushions with large pieced background & seams covered with braids & ric rac. Embellished with various embroidery, including bullion rose heart, daisy chain, ruffled flowers, yo-yo’s & felt appliqué. A pack of background fabric for the cushion front & seam covering braids is an additional $15- (pink & green OR yellow & blue).
Gold, cream & coffee crazy patchwork heart appliqued onto an antique white background which is then trimmed with gold. Embellished with thread & ribbon embroidery, lace, beads & gold charms. Stitched by hand. Design area is approx.11.5 x 11 cm.
'(panel & instructions) fabric panel of a Victoriana urn filled with ribbon embroidered flowers of roses & buds, carnations, daisies, bells & leaves in rich red, old gold & green. Panel choice of old gold, cream or green background.

'Stitched by hand, using traditional methods, this is heavily embroidered with ribbon & thread. It incorporates beads, gold charms lace motifs, metallic gold thread & ribbon patches. Colours are rich Victoriana colours of maroon, old gold, black, olive & deep purple. Our design is framed (approx.15 cm sq.).
'Our smallest piece of crazy patchwork. In rich gold, black & burgundy of various textures, it is embroidered with sewing tools(incl. pins, scissors & thread bobbin) in ribbon & thread. The charms are also in the sewing theme. It has a black cord edging & is backed in black velveteen. Approx. design size is 12cm square. Doesn't incl. filling.

Re-embroider a fresh pink & green geranium print to give dimensional interest. Frill is a smaller geranium print. Mainly thread with small amount of ribbon & beads.
'A small evening bag with a cord shoulder strap & a tassel at the bottom. The front flap is the crazy patchwork & is completely black - the textures & shades create the interest. Hand pieced. The bag is made of heavy black satin, fully lined. Instructions for easy bag construction also included. Approx.size 15 x 17 cm. May need additional buttons, etc
A slightly larger style of the above, using fabric in rich Victoriana colours of old gold, plum & burgundy. More heavily embroidered in ribbon & thread, some based around gold metallic charms. Has a cord shoulder strap & tasse. .Approx. size 20 x 20 cm. Cord strap not included or (optional) extra buttons, etc.
Scissor holder, pin wheel, needle book & thimble pip. Embroidered on a small caramel check, it has simple flowers in perle cotton in dusky tones of mauve, pink, plum, green, blue & gold. Each piece has a little bug embroidered - spider, snail, butterfly or bee. Includes quality pre cut cardboard pieces & instructions for construction. Does not include spray glue.
Two choices of colours, both suitable to be framed or a pot pourri bag. A crescent of silk pansies, violas & buds with a ribbon bow. Choose pastel colours on an ivory silk dupion or rich Victoriana colours on black dupion. Does not include pot pourri. Design size approx.11 x 16 cm. Please specify colour.
'Made from black homespun. She has a mop of black rag hair & her colour scheme is purple & mustard. 33cm. (13") tall & carrying a cane basket of fabric apples. Her skirt has embroidery & appliqué in stranded & perle cottons. in a garden theme with daisies, bird house & bees. Does not incl. toy fill, boot paint, doll needle or machine thread.
Burgundy, dark green & old gold crazy patchwork, embellished with ribbon & thread embroidery (including holly, candy canes & a wreath).Approx. 13cm square, it also is adorned with beads & charms. Made into an ornament, it has a silky tassel & cord. Does not include cardboard ,wadding or glue.
'Similar in style to #65 above. It includes some cotton patchwork fabrics with small Christmas prints, as well as silks. Similar embroidery to above. We have mounted ours onto a round gold satin box ( available at an additional cost)
'Patterns for both the scissor dolls from our book “Ragtime, Ragdolls from our Attic”. Silk thread, ribbon & dupion silk fabric to make the embroidered one. Approx. size 10 cm high x 4.5 cm wide. Does not include filling, sinker or strong thread.
A project from “the Ribbon & Thread Garden”. A verse is surrounded by a ring of flowers, including hollyhocks, wisteria, roses, daffodils, poppies & lavender in a combination of threads, ribbons & beads. There are also embroidered ants & butterfly charms. Approx. 16 cm diameter. Does not include pen for writing verse.
'Two piece chatelaine (scissor holder & pin cushion) in powder blue/grey moire taffeta. Shell pink & softest blue ribbon embroidery with beads & finer threads. Beaded tassel decoration. Glue, filling, cardboard & strong thread required.
'Hand dyed velveteen with complimentary coloured embroidery. Heart shaped design of roses, buds & forget-me-nots on the tummy. More flowers on the paws & ears. Embroidered facial features & standing approx. 22 cm high with button joints. Choose from pale blue, mauve, pink, plum/burgundy or dark blue.
'A canvas embroidery of a garden full of interesting things to see. Stitched in mixed mediums of wool, ribbon &, thread, it has lots of dimension. There is a winding path, a rose arbour, tall trees, a pond & fields of flowers. A pin cushion, but also lovely when framed. Design approx. 12 cm square. Does not include filling, backing or cord.
'An appliquéd boy & girl playing in a garden of golden sunflowers, purple lavender, white daisies & smaller blue & burgundy flowers. She is holding a bouquet of flowers & he is chasing butterflies.

'A long, rectangular cushion which spells “Garden” (individual letters cut from the alphabet fabric). Each letter is embellished with large ribbon embroidered flowers, including roses, carnations, pansies & lily of the valley.

'A rich Victoriana look in burgundy, old gold, bottle green & navy. This lap quilt has two large squares of crazy patchwork, embroidered with perle cotton & embellished with embroidered & felt flowers. The other two squares are a large old fashioned floral fabric. It has two borders, the outer also being in a floral. 56 inch square.
'Clear pinks, greens & antique white. Rectangles & squares interspersed with embroidered & appliquéd blocks in a scrappy style. Flower themed appliqué including butterflies, pot plants & topiary tree. Ribbon embroidery includes a bouquet & basket of flowers. Two sizes (cot 36 x 45 inches & bassinette 19 x 24 inches) . Scrappy squares & rectangles with appliquéd daisies scattered over & on the border. Embroidered bees buzz the flowers. Alternatively, the flowers can be replaced with letters of the alphabet.
47 x 56 inches Scrappy triangles to highlight cherry print blocks. Appliquéd cherries on the border. Colour theme is red, black & cream.
